Unlocks your chats
No chats yet. Start one with a friend's nickname. You'll agree on 4 secret words together, in person or on a call.
Every message is locked on your phone before it is sent, using the 4 secret words you and your friend agreed on. The server only ever passes along scrambled text it can't read, and clears it once your friend's phone has it.
Messages stay scrambled in the chat, yours too. Tap one to read it for 30 seconds. The readable text is never saved; it only exists on screen.
One tick: the server has it. Two ticks: it reached your friend's phone. Blue ticks: your friend tapped to read it.
Your password never leaves the phone; only a one-way proof of it is sent. Your PIN unlocks the app on this phone and is never sent anywhere. Neither is used to encrypt messages.
AES-256-GCM with a fresh key for every message (HKDF), from secret words stretched with PBKDF2-SHA256 (600,000 rounds). Messages use the same format as CipherMath.
The server knows who messages whom and when, but not what. It can't help if your phone itself is compromised. There's no backup: deleting the app erases your chats and secret words.
